Over 70 attendees enjoyed our Fall 2017 CETL Adjunct Learning Event on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, SPC’s Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning bi-annual adjunct learning event supporting preparation for our fall semester.
This event has previously been held on Saturday mornings near the start of each semester but this year due to scheduling conflict at our preferred location on the Clearwater Campus in the ES building, we decided to try out the Friday evening option. It was a great success! Attendees enjoyed a light dinner during the opening session and discussed promising practices with an expert faculty panel. Many adjunct faculty shared that they very much appreciated arriving after work, enjoying a few hours learning about resources and sharing teaching strategies with colleagues on a Friday evening.
The breakout sessions included support for course readiness, sharing best practices for student learning, and helpful tips on how to be a successful adjunct at SPC. Special thanks to our college partners and faculty panel participants.
